Rice is Hall of Famer who played from 1915-1934, primarily
with the Washington Senators. With a lifetime .322 BA and
2987 hits, Rice remains a little known figure in the annuls
of baseball. In the hobby of glove collecting, the Rice glove
remains one of the toughest to find in any condition. Of the
three known examples, this glove is without question the superior
example. This beautiful G47 glove was made by the long-defunct
Draper-Maynard Company during the 1920s. The glove is all
original, conservatively graded EX++ condition and D &
M label, on the reverse is near mint on this extremely rare
buckle-back glove. Simply put this glove becomes the hallmark
of any collection.
